We was contracted to paint three refurbished rooms at Carey’s manor hotel and spa. Upon completing the three rooms we was ask to decorate another 9 making the total 12. These room consisted of MDF panelling which was primed, prepared, undercoated and top coated with a water based eggshell. We used a range of paints and paper to the interior designers specification such as Little Greene, Farrow and ball plus colefax and fowler for the wallpaper which was supplied by RL-Decor. The previous paintwork was vinyl sink and the new specification was to use a flat Matt, when transitioning from silk to matt the matt doesn’t adhere properly to the service causing a thing called crazing where the paint separates. To get around this problem we used Zinsser guardz to act as a barrier before we applied our Matt Finish. We worked to a tight schedule and completed the rooms on time reasy for them to go back out to the general public.
